Mutiny by Design

Hollywood called last night, and What Would You Do With This Room came knocking. Mutineer Magazine’s national launch party at Falcon in Hollywood was a rousing success, attracting hundreds of people and raising money for AIDS/LifeCycle.
With doors opening at 7 p.m., guests were treated to the works—Hollywood style—with a red carpet and popping flashbulbs intro, to a sophisticated wine and beverage tasting, to a nicely presented silent auction table.
What Would You Do With This Room’s association with Mutineer Magazine came about after the Mutineers featured Mark Lewison in an article on interior design meets beverage lifestyle (written by yours truly) in their fourth issue. Mutineer is a magazine for all things beverage.
Upon entering the party guests were given an empty glass and an invitation to try a bit of everything (and there was a LOT). From fantastic wines (I admit going to the “J” table more than once for some of their yummy sparkling wine), to Jones Soda to the wicked absinthe table, this was some serious sampling.
And, of course, there was the silent auction benefitting the AIDS/LifeCycle Ride, organized by LifeCycle Ride participant, Doug Brotherhood. In addition to the interior design package donated by What Would You Do With This Room LLC and Mark On Call Interior Designer LLC, there were gift baskets of hair and spa products, magnums of wine, an absinthe fountain, unique designer clothing, and an original, certified authentic photograph of Jean Harlow (I won this one!). Many people bid on all of these items, raising a good deal of money for the charity.
All in all, the event was glamorous, well executed and enormously fun. Well designed, Mutineers!
